Exciting Upgrades Announced for Norwegian Bliss and Breakaway
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced exciting plans to upgrade two popular ships, the Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway. Starting in 2025, both ships will receive enhancements tailored to elevate the guest experience, including expanded dining options, new venues, and upgraded spaces.
Having sailed on the Norwegian Breakaway in the Spring of 2024, I can say firsthand that this news is welcome. The ship needs an update, and it’s great to see it getting some much-needed attention.
What’s Coming to Norwegian Breakaway
The Norwegian Breakaway will debut the Silver Screen Bistro, the first immersive cinema-and-dining experience at sea. Guests can enjoy themed meals while watching films—a unique new option for entertainment on board.
The ship will also feature the new Horizon Park, a versatile outdoor space designed for relaxing and playing games. With options like cornhole, giant Jenga, and comfy loungers with ocean views, it’s a fun addition for all ages.
What’s Coming to Norwegian Bliss
Norwegian Bliss will see more extensive updates, especially in its accommodations. The exclusive Haven Premier Owner’s Suites will be expanded to include three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and a dining room with stunning views of the Haven Horizon Lounge. Living areas and balconies will also be refreshed.
In addition, 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms will be added by converting part of the Observation Lounge on deck 15. This means more options for guests seeking balcony views.
Dining will also be expanded on the Bliss. Cagney’s Steakhouse will grow into the space currently occupied by Los Lobos, while Teppanyaki will take over the area from Coco’s. The seafood restaurant Palomar, first introduced on Norwegian Prima, will replace Ocean Blue, offering elevated seafood dishes.
When the Changes Are Happening
Norwegian Bliss will enter dry dock from January 17 to February 2, 2025, before embarking on a transatlantic cruise from Southampton to Miami. Norwegian Breakaway will follow, heading to dry dock from February 19 to March 14, 2025. Afterward, it will begin its Mediterranean season, sailing from Southampton to Barcelona.
These updates show Norwegian Cruise Line’s commitment to enhancing the experience on board its ships. With these changes, the Bliss and Breakaway will be better than ever for travelers in 2025 and beyond.
