Carnival Sparks Discussion Over Upside-Down Pineapple Decorations
Carnival Cruise Line seems to have addressed upside-down pineapple decorations on stateroom doors. John Heald, Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, reportedly mentioned in the Carnival Hub app that these decorations would be removed. That post has since been deleted. So, we’re not sure if this is an official policy change.
For now, it’s best to follow Carnival’s stateroom decoration guidelines. Decorations should be family-friendly, fire-retardant, and securely attached to the door without causing damage.
If you’re unfamiliar, the upside-down pineapple is commonly known as a symbol in the swinger community. Since this doesn’t match Carnival’s family-focused atmosphere, it may be the reason the cruise line would discourage it.
We’ll keep you posted as more details become available.
